Borzoi Dog

It descends from galgo Arab being similar to a Russian ovejero dog. Previously known like galgo Russian, he was originally bred to hunt wolves and hares. He is graceful, strong and quick, reaching a height among 66 and 79 cm and a weight from 25 to 48 kg.

It has a long head and it narrows, small ears, hollowed but narrow thorax; long and muscular back quarters. Its tail is long and bending and its coat are silky and can smooth or slightly be curled. It is almost always of white color with dark spots. He is well-known by his elegant appearance.

The Galgo Ruso or Borzoi had its moment of maximum glory in the court of the Czars where he was bred with great masters to use it in the hunting of the Siberian wolf.
