DOGUE DE BORDEAUX

The word “bulldog” appears at the end of century XIV. In the middle of century XIX, these old bulldogs were famous only in Aquitaine. It was used to him for the greater hunting (the wild boar), in the combats (often codified), to take care of the houses and the cattle to the service of the butchers.
In 1863 it took place in Paris, in the Garden of Acclimatization, the first French canine exhibition. The bulldogs of Bordeaux appeared under their present name.
Different types have existed: tolosano type, Parisian type and type bordelés, that origin gave to the present bulldog. The race, that had undergone much during the two world wars, until the point to be in extinction danger, after the war from 1939 to 1945 recovered its development in years 60.

Typically molosoide concavilíneo braquiocefálico. The Bulldog of Bordeaux is a very powerful dog, whose body is well musculado and joint harmonious. The body rather is stuck to the ground, that is to say, that the distance between the breastbone and the ground is slightly inferior around the chest. This it is a fornido, athletic, imposing dog and of very dissuasive aspect.
