Estonian Hounds are generally very friendly, but not to new things or new people as they have an issue with getting used to new things easily. They are very affectionate and like being around people. They make for good house pets as they are good with kids and other household pets too. Their voice is very unique and very distinctive as compared to the rest of the dogs; it is more melodic than a regular bark. They even have a very good instinct to hunt too, it is usually shown in the way they navigate and run around during their play time.
The Estonian Hounds don’t like being indoors. They always prefer to stay outdoors, that’s why they are not suited to living in an apartment either. They are most suitable to living in a home with at least an average sized back yard for the Estonian Hounds to run around in. It is very necessary that they receive at least some exercise per days; it could be anything from a long jog or some playtime with the kids. These dogs show great signs of working ability from their ancestors; they even have a huge stamina going on them.
The Estonian Hounds have dark brown eyes. Their skin doesn’t flab up in any places, it is toned and tight all around and even their tail gets an even coat of thick hair. Their tails always end up having a white tip no, matter what the rest of the body color happens to be. They like running after anything that sounds or looks or smells interesting, that is why it is very important to let the dog loose only or a fenced yard.
