Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Noir

Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Noir

The Grand Anglo-Français Blanc Et Noir are of scent hounds that are used for hunting. They are very good hunters as they always hunt in packs. They are said to have originated directly from the English foxhounds and the French scent hounds. This breed of dogs is powerful and big at first glance. But they have a lot of features on them that resemble the foxhounds such as the long ears and the long legs and the long tail. They stand tall at around 24.4 to 28 inches (62 to 72 cm) for a fully grown dog.

The coat on this breed of dog is made of white and black color. It is more like a white coat with black color markings on it instead. They also have tan marking around their feet sometimes and if the tan marking happens to be placed high on their thighs then it is called as the Roe Buck Mark. These dogs with any other color coats would be termed as faulty. It is advised not breed dogs with faults, but that is mainly because these faults also may mean that the dogs are incapable of having a good health or even have issues with working for long hours. These faults also include butterfly nose, shyness, aggression, tail deviation and excessive dewlap.

This breed of dogs is said to be direct descendents of the Foxhounds and the old Saintongeois hound. These dogs are used to hunting in packs, and they still hunt in packs. They can easily take down large games like boar, Roe Deer. They are still agile and fast enough to hunt for smaller pray such as the Foxes. They get the name “Grand” because of their ability to hunt large game in packs and not because they themselves are a large sized dogs.

These dogs are recognized by the French Kennel Club. They are also recognized internationally under the Group 6 Scent hounds by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale. These dogs are not meant for the show circuit, these dogs are only bred to be pure hunting dogs. These dogs are a rare breed in North America, but there are people who look forward to importing these dogs from France just so that they get to have a unique pet. They are also registered over the internet by businesses that handle dog registrations and minor Kennel Clubs in North America.

Most hunting dogs normally face problems with their hips due to the daily exercises all year long, but these dogs are said to be an extraordinary healthy breed. These dogs are not ideal pets, but then the temperament varies from dog to dog, and it may be possible to keep some individual dogs from this breed as pets as long as they are given plenty of free space to run in. These dogs are good hunting dogs that hunt in packs and that is what they do exceptionally well.
