Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Orange

Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Orange

The Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Orange is a type of dog used mainly for hunting. They are of Anglo French origins; they originate from the English Foxhounds and the French Scenthounds. Some of the qualities similar to those of the English Foxhounds are seen in these dogs, especially in their power and body size. This breed of dogs stands tall at around 24 to 28 inches (60 to 70cm) for a fully frown adult. Their legs are long, and their ears are long and they drop down and hand next to their faces. Their tail is considered to be moderately long for their bodies.

These dogs have a coat of white - lemon color with markings on them that are of white - orange color. The dog is considered not to be of pure origins if the coat markings are red instead of the regular white - orange. It is advised not breed dogs with faults, but that is mainly because these faults also may mean that the dogs are incapable of having a good health or even have issues with working for long hours. These faults also include butterfly nose, shyness, aggression, tail deviation and excessive dewlap.

These dogs are said to have originated around the 1800’s and are said be a direct cross between the Foxhounds and the Billys. These dogs are used to hunting in packs, and they still hunt in packs. They can easily take down large games like boar, Roe Deer. They are still agile and fast enough to hunt for smaller pray such as the Foxes. They get the name “Grand” because of their ability to hunt large game in packs and not because they themselves are a large sized dogs.

These dogs are recognized by the French Kennel Club. They are also recognized internationally under the Group 6 Scent hounds by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale. These dogs are not meant for the show circuit, these dogs are only bred to be pure hunting dogs. These dogs are a rare breed in North America, but there are people who look forward to importing these dogs from France just so that they get to have a unique pet. They are also registered over the internet by businesses that handle dog registrations and minor Kennel Clubs in North America.

These dogs do not have any major health problems like the other hunting dogs do. Most hunting dogs normally face problems with their hips due to the daily exercises all year long, but these dogs are said to be an extraordinary healthy breed. These dogs are not ideal as house pets, but then the temperament varies from dog to dog and some of them may even make good pets , if large spaces are provided for them to roam around in. These dogs are good hunting dogs that hunt in packs and that is what they do exceptionally well.
