Gull Dong

Originated in the country of Pakistan, and also commonly known as the ‘Bully Gull Terr’ in local terms, the Gull Dong is a breed of bull dog that is quite popular in Pakistan. Known for having a fierce and grumpy nature that is quite the prerequisites of fitting into the category of ‘fighting dogs’. Known for its wild and dominant nature, this breed is a popular choice for security and fighting purposes. Quite an all rounder and very adaptable in different conditions, this dog is a well built, muscular canine that not only appears but is also known for its strength, power and expansive nature.

When the local Indian bullterriers were crossed with the bully kutta, it resulted in the birth of the Gull Dong. Commonly mistaken for the bully kutta in many regions around India and Pakistan, this breed is a strong mixture of the best of qualities, both from the local Indian terrier and the bully kutta. The actual origination of this breed was from colonial India, now Pakistan. Known in both, the northern region of India as well as Pakistan, the Dong is widely popular for its fast aped in accuracy. Not very common in other parts of the world, these dogs are agile, quick and always on their feet. Known for its bear hunting skills, one dog can easily challenge a medium sized bear. Being quite brutal in its bloodline, the Gull Dong is a breed that awaits challenges and requires a lot of exercise and hard work.

Though most of them cannot be handled in a family life, if brought up in the right ambience and taught and trained to live in a city life, they can their attitude can be altered. With adequate training and discipline, these dogs can be used as ideal guard dogs. Ideally they would fit into a farm or forest life that provides them with daily challenges and some excitement. Respectful and loyal to their owners, these dogs would fight to death if their owners are faced with danger or even a slight threat. Known for its basic instincts and intuition, the Dong can be an excellent companion of a hunter. Very alert and agile in nature, this breed can be a very useful guide and companion in the outdoors.

Very athletic in appearance and known for its working skills, the Dong is built to provide us what it’s destined for. Approximately 27 inches in height and ranging from pure white to grey and wheat in color, this breed needs an owner that can handle its loud and aggressive nature by subduing its temper. It has a lot of similarities when compared to the pit bull terrier in the United States of America. This is due to its temperament and appearance. It is also known that the Gull Dong and the pit bull have the same ancestors, the bull dog. Due to the reason that its nature and temperament are very difficult to mould, most of these dogs continue to serve as fighters and assist hunters etc. due to the fact that the Dong can be quite a hand full, it is very difficult for the lay man to train it without much experience.
