Barbet dog

This native dog is much related to many water dogs. However, information on its origins is scanty. Today, this race is causing fervor and seems to be threatened with extinction. Many people fear that it might disappear from the face of the earth.

This dog is a little slow since it is heavy. Its round head, black truffle and brown spots easily recognize the Barbet. The eyes are round. The neck is dumpy and very powerful. The ears are rather long. They are also flat and very similar to those of the pendulas. While walking, its tail hangs very low.

It has a deep chest and the coat is very heavy. Some of the members of this breed have wooly hairs that are very unevenly distributed. The color of this coat is black, sand and gray.

Basenji

The meaning of the word Basenji is “something that belongs to the bushes”. This breed is suited to spending most of the time in the bushes as the name suggests. It is commonly found in Central Africa. Traditionally, this dog has been often used in game hunting. This dog is very gifted at hunting small wild animals.

According to some unverified sources, the Pharaohs of Egypt knew a lot about this dog, and even used to keep them. This dog found its way into England in 1895. Here, it was acknowledged very much. This could be the reason some Englishmen crossed with it into the United States in 1941.

Many particularities make the Bansenji to be categorized as a single breed. One unique feature of this dog is that it does not bark although it is not mute. It also lacks the typical odor that is characteristic of other dogs. It has a small head that is wrinkled. Its vision is extraordinarily good especially over very long distances. The cross height ranges between 41 and 43 cm.

Basset Artesien Normand

Basset Artesien Normand is a dog with its origin in France. Most dogs of this breed are found in this country to this day. People began to breed this breed in the early 1870’s.

Bavarian Mountain Hound

This is a German breed that were very widely used in this country during the middle ages for hunting. This dog is very good at tracking scents. This makes it a very good hunter.. Germans also refer to these dogs as Bayerischer.

Beagle

Beagle is a hound dog. Most Beagles are small-to-medium-sized in terms of stature. They are similar in terms of appearance to foxhounds. They have long ears and very short legs. This breed was introduced into the world in order to function as a scent-hound, such that it could hunt down rabbits easily. They have a very good sense of smell. They can detect any form of prohibited foodstuffs anywhere in the globe.

Bearded Collie

Another name for Bearded Collie is Collie Barbudo. This dog came from the Great Britain. Initially, this dog had attributes that were very similar to those of the Highland Collie. This is a very active animal. It intensely enjoys life away from the domestic setting.
