The origination of these dogs leads them back to the country of Germany. In the language of Germany, German, the word “pinscher” is said to mean terrier. These dogs are the result of a cross between the Dachshund, the Italian Greyhound and also the short haired German Pinscher. These dogs look like miniature version of Doberman dogs. This is mainly because both these dogs, the Doberman and the Miniature Pinscher, were both developed from the same breed of dog, the German Pinscher. These dogs were mainly used as a barnyard ratter and were used for the purpose of controlling the population of rodents in the stables. These dogs have a lot of talents, some of them are, obedience, watchdog and agility.

These dogs are small and compact. They are usually square in shape. They have a head that is in perfect proportion with the rest of the body. They have a skull that generally looks like it is flat. Their skull also tapers as it moves forward. They have a very strong muzzle. Their muzzle is also in perfect proportion to their head and the rest of their body. Their teeth usually meet to form a scissor bite. They have a very level top line, which slightly slops toward their rear. Their eyes are also slightly oval in shape. Their eyes are dark brow in colour. They have a pair of high set ears. Their ears are either cropped or even left natural.

They have a pair of perfectly straight front legs. Their declaws are generally removed. They have small feet. Their feet are usually shaped like that of a cat. They need to have a cropped tail. They have a smooth coat which is short in length. Their coat usually lies very close to their medium sized perfectly proportionate body. Their coat may be lack in colour with a few rust markings here and there. It may be chocolate colored with a few tan red markings here and there. It may also be red in colour with a few black hairs here and there, this is knows as stag red.

These dogs carry a lot of pride in them. They are hardy and are also said to be very courageous dogs. They are very loyal when it comes to their masters. They usually have very high spirits and are generally very active dogs. They have a lot of energy and are always alert. They have high level of intelligence. They are also very lively. They are usually very good when it comes to other pets and also children. They require a proper owner who can lead them. Their behavior is completely dependent on how the owner and the other humans surrounding the dog treat the dog. These dogs should not be allowed to suffer from the small dog syndrome. This is human induced behavior on the part of the dogs. This is where the dog is under the impression that it is the leader of the pack which includes all the humans that surround it.
