The dogs of this breed are said to be the descendants of the breed of English foxhounds. The dogs of this breed are said to make excellent hunting dogs. The dogs are also known for their exceptional speed. The dogs of this breed are said to make very efficient and also very reliable hunters. They were used especially for the purpose of hunting animals like the racoons, the squirrels and also the possums. The treeing walker tree hound is also good at climbing trees.

The dogs of this breed are very powerful in nature. The dogs belonging to the treeing walker tree hound breed also has the presence of shoulders that are extremely mobile in nature. The dogs of this breed have a rather medium sized heads. However, the pair of ears that this medium sized head contains are much larger in size, as compared to the size of the head of the dog. The upper lip of the dogs is such a way that it usually tens to hangs low, even lower than the lower jaw bone of the dog. The dogs of this breed have the presence of extremely straight pair of forelegs. Along with being soft, the coat of the dogs is very glossy and equally fine to touch a well. Dog that have the presence of tri colored coat are preferred by the breeders over the dogs having a single colored coat or a double colored coat. When these dogs are grown into fully healthy adults, they have the tendency to grow up to a minimum of 20 inches and a maximum of 27 inches in height, that is, at their withers and when these dogs are given proper food and also given their required amount of daily exercise, they have the ability to weigh in at about a minimum of 50 pounds to a maximum of 790 pounds in weight. The average life expectancy of a proper, healthy and u fully grown adults with no problems of any sort is said pt be around a minimum of 12 years and a maximum of 13 years. These dogs are quite healthy dogs and are not known to have any kind of genetic disorders.

These dogs are no0t at all suited for an apartment life. They are extremely anxious dogs and will not have the patience to sit around in the apartment and not do any work as such. They are however, are best suited for climates that are relatively hot and sunny in nature. The dogs of this breed are known to be very good when it comes to children and they are also said to do very well with other dogs. The dogs of this breed learn with the help of example, they are quite hard to train but not impossible, with a little hard work on the part of their owner, they can be trained.
